JADE is a middleware for the development of applications, both in the mobile and fixed environment, based on the Peer-to-Peer intelligent agent approach.

During the last years, the JADE Team focused mainly on the goal of designing and developing the middleware with more and more new functionalities, documentation, and consolidation of existing functionalities.

In the meantime, a great effort has been made also to study and understand the endless possibilities of its applications. The JADE team itself has developed several sample of applications to demonstrate the strengths and the opportunities opened by the platform.

The openness and the flexibility of JADE, with an exceptional ease of use declared by several external users, has permitted its extensive employ in many different contexts. Moreover the conception itself of Open Source has made JADE spread possible even further than JADE team knowledge.

In this section we want to highlight both the wide range of possible application fields and the numerous real use cases of JADE we are aware of: for its high quality and easy availability JADE has been employed in many different contexts ranging from academic studies to substantial business applications.

We want to thank all those who have already exploited JADE and permitted to cite them, allowing the wide spread in its knowledge around the world. Furthermore, we encourage all the other JADE users to share with us their successes (and their failures…), giving also a further visibility to their activities.

We believe that a further broad growth in JADE diffusion and awareness will lead our middleware to the next step of its progress: the birth of a plethora of products and systems leveraging its qualities, leading JADE and its applications to a commercial and business level.
